TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION ROUGH DRAFT:

Definition:

The PlayStation (PS) 5 controller  is the most important part of the PS(PlayStation) because it’s the only thing you can use to play the games of the console. The controller is used for us to play the game however you want, it has different buttons and analogs that let you move, hit, hold your character, etc.… In short, the main purpose of the ps5 controller is to apply the players action on the game by pressing certain buttons on the controller.

Overview:

The ps5 controller is a joystick you can hold on to with 2 hands not less, and it consists of different buttons on different sides of the controller. It weighs 0.619lb, a unique shape for us to be able to hold it, and it can be big for two hands to hold on to it. First, there are four buttons on the right side of the joystick: “X,O,Square,Triangle” and four other buttons on the left side that are identical because they have the same shape and size. Moreover, two of the most important parts of the controller are the analogs connected to it, shaped like circles, and can move circularly in their place. The back of the controller consists of four buttons, two on the right, the big one is called R2 and the small one is called R1. The other two buttons in the back of the controller are on the left side, the big one is called L2 and the small one is called L1. It also appears to have two small buttons in the middle called “options and “share”, and a small button in the button with the PS logo on it. These controllers usually come in their standard color, which is black and white, however, Sony released a huge number of controllers with different colors, and some people customize their controllers so they can look different .

Components:

      FROM FRONT TO BACK

  1. The X, O, Square, and Triangle buttons are the main buttons in the controller. They are used differently depending on the game you’re playing, but they will remain the most crucial part of the controller whatever game you’re playing.
  2. The left analog is a circular shaped button that can move in a circular way, and it mainly has the same role in 99% of the games which is moving the character you’re playing with. Moreover, this item can also be pressed inside, but its role varies massively from one game to another.
  3. The right analog is also a circular shaped button that also moves in a circular direction, but its role varies most of the time. It is usually used so you can turn your character around for you to see what’s behind you, next to you, above you, or under you.
  4. The four buttons on the left are not as important as the other buttons I just talked about, but they are used for side options or to check your equipment for example.
  5. The R1 and R2 buttons on the right side of the back of the controller. The R2 is the bigger button of the two and it is most used for you to hold it for speed in FIFA for example or for shooting in war games. The R1 is the smaller button of them and is it also can be used while using the front buttons for aiming mostly. It also depends on the game you’re playing.
  6. Like them, there is the L2 and L1 buttons on the left back side. The L2 button is the bigger one and the L1 button is the smaller one. They both depend on the game you’re playing.
  7. The options button is a small button in the middle of the controller. It is often used to pause a game or getting into the settings of a certain game.
  8. The share button is also a small button in the middle of the controller made for sharing pictures or documents.
  9. The screen in the middle of the controller is made for different reasons. It may be for some sounds for games or also for some options.

Explanation:

The ps5 controller is a mix of different buttons that are all connected and depending on each other for most games you play. For example, FIFA is a soccer game where you play normal soccer matches. In these matches, you should use X to pass the ball, the analog to move or run, and the R2 to pace. This shows how much these games are depending on the connection of the buttons we’re using. Each button has a certain role, and some roles need the help of the other so you can play the game correctly. The key principle to govern its functioning is being careful when to charge it. It can be charged normally or by plugging it into the ps5. You can charge it while playing and while you’re offline, but the reason why you should make sure to keep it charged is because the hardest thing a gamer can experience is a controller being disconnected while in the middle of the game.

CONCLUSION:

The PlayStation controller is among the most iconic designs in the video game industry. From its earliest introduction back in 1994, the incredible iterations of the DualShock controller, to the future of PlayStation with the PS5 controller Dual Sense, this gamepad has connected millions of players to some of the very best gaming experiences the industry has to offer for over two decades. Sony has stuck with a winning formula consistently, with just about every iteration reflecting the distinctive handlebar shape and the iconic face buttons. However, a desire to deliver a controller that brings players into virtual games in new and innovative ways has ensured that the controller has evolved in some interesting ways between console generations. That’s why we have tracked the history of the PlayStation controller, from original release alongside the PlayStation to the Dual Sense PS5 Controller. (www.gamesradar.com)
